This is not left cynicism, but a sober reading of imperial positioning in this moment.
1) Carney squarely positioned Canada as a middle power.
You can become disabled or homeless in an instant.
Even if you’re young and healthy.
Even if you have a “good job” and a back up plan.
Even if you think you’re doing everything right.
Disability and poverty are not moral failings.
They can happen to anyone.
