Sadly, we don’t always control our emotional responses. I’m trying to acknowledge the outrage, thank it for encouraging me to go do something, and then tell it to move along—it has served its purpose. That approach is mostly working for my brain.

Yes, when accompanied by action. Even if those actions are small, they add up. An email here, a phone call there, changing where you shop… when we give up, we’re doomed to failure. As long as we resist, there’s hope. And it lets the other rebels know they’re not alone. + integrity matters.

A crescent shawl with a lacy border, knit in deep blue and purple yarn, draped over the back of a chair.
This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits prompt is lace. I haven’t done a ton of lace; feel like I’m just starting to get the hang of it. Last year I made the Travelling Woman Shawl in @exlibrisfibers.com Anais. The shawl has already become a cherished travel companion. #knitsky

A few inches of a green knit cowl on circular needles sitting on a bright blue sketchbook, next to a cake of yarn on a mini-minder.
For this week’s #showmeyourknits I’ll give my current smaller WIP some love… a sample of a cowl pattern I’m designing. Yarn is Dirty Water DyeWorks Lucia DK in Sea Glass. I’m also still cranking on the Calamity Shawl and some Vireo Mitts are in a pile of neglect in my office. 🧶

A large knit triangular shawl in teal yarn spread over the back of a gray loveseat.
It’s #wipwednesday and I’ve been making steady progress on the Calamity Shawl. Hoping to finish this weekend so I can wrap up in it. #knitting

I'm convinced there are a bunch of MIT students who could shut down Musk and his minions right now with my iPhone 5c, a potato clock, and some duct tape. If you're one of them and you're reading this, please get after it. Your beverage of choice is on me for life.

Yarn in different shades of sea greens, rosy pink, and mustard yellow on a gray couch.
So much squish! Looking forward to finding the perfect projects for these beauties. #knitting

Dear @nefarmandfiber.bsky.social — thanks for an absolutely lovely event. I’m nerding out over the awesomeness I got from @wingandaprayerfarm.bsky.social, @katrinkles.bsky.social, @brooklyngeneral.bsky.social and Dirty Water Dyeworks. The Cyclorama is gorgeous. Knitters are the best. 😘 🧶

A woman with glasses outside on a sunny spiring day, wrapped in a beige shawl with bottle green strips and bobbles.
This week's #showmeyourknits is all about stripes. I love stripes, yet somehow this Fleur Shawl is the only striped thing I've ever knit. I do have plans for a black and white striped sweater with a funky neckline eventually.

A purple cabled triangle shawl on the grass in the sun.
Ooohhhh, cables! I love cables. This is the Willow Path Shawl and it’s one of my favorite knits. Pattern by Valerie Hobbs. #showmeyourknits #cableknitting

I’ve been swatching away, working on my first knitting pattern design. It’s fun to sketch things out, grab some yarn, needles and books and see where the process takes me. Eventually this will be a cowl with cables, bobbles and all kinds of crossed stitches. #knitting 🧶

Darn it… sad I will miss this. I’m descended from Alice Young and really interested in Colonial witchcraft history. Hope you have plans to repeat the presentation at some point.

Tuxedo cat with glowing eyes steals the show from a man standing behind a chair where his daughter is seated.
My stepmom took this photo of me with my dad last night… apparently, as she put it, the cat is fully charged 😝

Too many favorites, changing constantly. I love the Teeny Tiny Tarot, Tarot de L’Etoile Cachee, all of James R. Eads’ decks, and the Gentle Tarot. I’ll stop there for now…
