Day 9: (finally getting back to these) In Dark Souls, there's two demon bosses, the Capra Demon and the Taurus Demon, which have opposite skulls to their name. The Capra Demon is named after a goat, but has a bull skull. The Taurus Demon is named after a bull, but has a goat skull.

Depression can get so bad, people kill themselves.

Depression isn't just "oh I'm sad." It's a genuine sickness where you feel tired, low-energy, and like you can't enjoy anything and should give up on everything. Including, at times, life.

Okay, that's all I remember right now. People really do ask me weird questions...

Maybe? There's a chance, but I doubt it.

"Does it hurt when your eyes do that?"
Not hurt, but they do get tired quicker.

As much as anyone else. Not that I want to.

"Are albinos really bad luck?"
Not that I'm aware of.

"What race do you put down on paperwork?"
Caucasian. That's what I am.

"You're not albino. Your eyes aren't red."
That's a very common misconception.

"Is your blood toxic?"
Depends on what you're doing with it.

"What do you put on job applications?"
The same thing everyone else does.

"Can I touch you?"
I would rather you didn't.

"Can you stop your eyes from doing that? It's distracting."
(meaning moving back and forth a lot)
No, I cannot.

"Can you vote?"
Yes. What do you people think albinism is?

"Are your parents mad at you?"
For..what? Being albino? I hope not.

"Do you get any special treatment?"
People used to throw rocks at me, but I don't think that's what you mean.

"I saw an albino at this place this long ago. Do you know them?"
Why would I know them? No.

I keep meaning to post on here more, so here's a thread of actual questions I've got as a person with albinism.

"Do albinos have their own language?"
Seriously? No, we don't.

"Do you have to be careful in the sun?"
Everyone does, but yes, me more so than others.

Anyone can become disabled.

Anyone can lose their job.

Anyone can become homeless.

Anyone can go hungry.

These are not moral failings. They can happen in an instant.

Most people are far closer to living in poverty than they realize.

We must fight for one another & for the most vulnerable.

I think it's important to remember, especially now when everything feels doom and gloom, that we have to keep going. It's tough, but we can't let the people that only wish to harm us win. And when the world is too much, it's good to enjoy yourself with your friends, away from the stress.
