A metro station of brutal concrete blocks and jagged black obelisks.
“You finished those DC metro stations?”
“Sure thing boss, beautiful, moodily lit and oddly unsettling, just like you asked.”
“What?”

Good post from @simonwillison.net on how vital TDD is for agentic coding. I tend to implement functions that throw a "not implemented" exception, rather than have the tests fail thanks to the missing SUT in the red phase.

every single file on your computer is just a very long number pretending to be something else. your photos. your documents. your hopes and dreams. numbers. all of it. have a nice day

Not to spend all my time shadowboxing with people who get angry at headlines, but:
- this is an old metaphor from chess
- he’s right
- we should hope that the centaur phase lasts as long as possible
This is the thing, right? The idea that LLMs would be as ubiquitous or capable in software engineering as they are now would have, around the time of GPT-2 or 3's release, been laughable.

The cicada lifestyle is more appealing than ever. Hiding underground for the next 17 years only to emerge screaming, that's living the dream.

🎵 If I had to listen to one era of music forever, it would be the 70s. So eclectic. Hard to get bored. Here's a song from the top of the decade.

If Kamala Harris had to compete with that map, even winning Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin wouldn’t have saved her. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
