What mattered to me was whether the measly things I could do could tell people who I am, how I feel and how *much* I feel.

It wasn't perfect, it never will be, but it's me.

It's hypocritically martyr-like but it has never been about that.

I wanted.. to reach people.

That's all I've ever wanted.

I fought for each of these skills, because it helped me express. I fought for these skills because I wanted to say "I love you".

I wanted to say *I* am here, and I fought hard to connect with you. I wanted to say *I* love you — even if that sounded selfish.

Each skill I pick up is a love letter to humanity, to people I wished to connect with.

I learned Spanish and Japanese to understand my friends and what I love.

I learned art, animatikn and poetry so I could express gratitude.

What kept me going was to one day reach the people I wanted to reach.

AI will never understand the reason why people hone crafts.

Every bit of art, every bit of struggle, every misplaced Spanish word, every errant note I play, I persevere because learning things wasn't something like credentials to me or a thing I would flaunt.
