Donald Trump's decades-long obsession with eugenics A timeline of the president's thoughts on "good genes," IQ, and which disabled people should "just die."

Trump is defending the Sydney Sweeney ad, which is not surprising, as I put together this timeline for @motherjones.com, that man holds bad views on eugenics. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

💯 Agrees in disabled Jewish person

This is incorrect. If your people group has never gone through colonization, mass sterilization, or medical experimentation, you don’t understand the full scope of eugenics as part of a racial project.

Twitter basically started my professional career. It led to me finding so many editors and also sources when I was a freelancer getting started.

It took four years for them to diagnose her multiple myeloma, repeatedly writing off her jaw pain, back pain, skin irritation, etc as anxiety and depression. It wasn’t until she went into kidney failure that they finally took her seriously. This is medical gaslighting.

I thankfully have had good vasculitis specialists post-diagnosis

I filed a complaint with how my symptoms were brushed off, including after a hospitalization. I was told it wasn't their fault bc I didn't go into organ failure...which is not needed for a vasculitis diagnosis.

Not nearly as long, but I was told my vasculitis was anxiety for over a year and I had to leave undergrad. It was diagnosed when I got sick in another place (CRP was 77 mg/L)

‘They roll right over’: Many Democrats call their party weak and ineffective, AP-NORC poll finds A poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that many Democrats see their political party as “weak” or “ineffective.”

This shouldn’t be surprising. The only way to fight back is to… actually fight back.

If Democrats want to improve their approval rating (or far more importantly, make actual change), we need real leadership to put up real resistance to authoritarianism.

That's fair. I've talked about article count particularly in relation to my chronic illness, as I'm proud I was able to produce a certain amount despite feeling terrible (but I usually include that reasoning).

My brain is broken from "disabled kids' malnutrition is not seen as valid as non-disabled kids" views in media. Industry needs to do better.

Can some people become more erratic because it's frustrating to have cognitive issues start? Sure. But, that's not the discussion that's being had.

A lot of chronically ill people have cognitive symptoms since forever. No, we're not disproportionately being violent or being serial killers or something.

Some non-disabled Covid cautious people would do a good job learning about disability and chronic illness in a non-stigmatizing way.

The way some Covid cautious people talk about Long Covid, for instance, is deeply entrenched in ableism. No, people are not becoming bad people because they're having cognitive symptoms.

The problem is far bigger than Jeffrey Epstein | Rebecca Solnit Treating the scandal as an aberration misunderstands the global epidemic of violence against women

"One of the reasons the epidemic of violence against women is so unacknowledged is because cases like these are talked about individually, and often treated as though they are shocking aberrations rather than part of a pervasive pattern that operates at all levels of society."
