XP was still janky tho. 7 is when it became SLICK. That Aero theme, the proper 3D acceleration. XP still felt like 2000 with a painted on shiny coat. Great for the time tho! But I count it as the last of the first gen. Starting with 95.

You can also check translation. How will this mic sound on… car speakers, headphones, laptops, etc. I keep it flat for mixing. But when I’m listening for fun I like a little extra saucy bass. So we do that.

At first, it’s like a little motion controller game. But by the time you’re on point number 30, with the speakers clicking echolocation at you… it’s no game. BUT super worth it. It analyzes the acoustics of your space and EQs your speakers to be flat. And then after that, you can EQ on top!

I'm glad some folks still remember Lakeforest U :3 I may have to do some character cameos from my Alflor days!

Depends. Just this specific project took like 1.5 hours. But I'd already previously designed the Lakeforest U logo, which took about 3-4 hours, but that's because I'd already come up with a color palette and fonts, which took another several hours. It all builds on previous work.

I wonder how absurdly wealthy RarLab would be if everyone who used WinRar paid for it...

Yeahhh, it had some funny jokes for sure, but the general mood and vibes were always too cynical for me. It inspired the ironic attitudes I can’t stand in people. Being passionate is cringe. Ironic detachment is cool. Yuck

It’s cool, too, because everything adds to the story! Like, the expression Myles makes when he gets his picture taken says a ton about where he is mentally at that moment. This has been the funnest part about transitioning from writing to visual storytelling — All the little background details!

It's so much fun! Granted, their humor is not for everyone, but I love it! And it's massively creative. They mix like every possible style of animation into this amazing stew.

Look, I shit-talk Blender a LOT but I do so out of love. I still work extensively with it. And no matter what, their mission is absolutely second to none! We need to keep open source projects alive at all costs. Or else Adobe and Autodesk win. And no one but their shareholders wants that :P
