Jake lived far beyond medical expectations and died aged 17 in 2023, just over six weeks before his 18th birthday.

"When I started coming here, I was in a wheelchair. My daughter announced she was getting married and asked, Dad, will you walk me down the aisle and dance with me?

Hospices are facing a financial cliff edge. Surging costs have led to many services being cut back – just as demand is rising, fast, because of our ageing population.
Recent short-term funding for hospices in England has been a genuine help, but many hospices are running out of road.
We welcome the Welsh Government’s Budget allocation of recurring funding for commissioned hospices across Wales.
Delivering on this commitment will be critical to ensure everyone in Wales can get the end of life care they need.
