For L. Balboa: "Metrics work against Diamond Open acess".
She presented a survey on assessment policies based on 314 policies from Global North and South. 82% of the policies ask quantitative criteria and not qualitative. Researchers are compelled to select commercial journals for careers.
"Ownership isnโt just a technical question. It is one of the the foundations that makes openness possible. [โฆ] Diamond open access is a legal choice and a choice about values!"
