I made two critical mistakes on my dating profile Just 30 minutes after signing up, I was invited for sex.

It has taken six years for my lovely partner to agree I could write about him and include his name and photo, so I did…how we met after dismal dating disasters…🤦🏻‍♀️

Word of the day is ‘forswunk’ (13th century): exhausted by work.

I like to add ‘foreswunk’, exhausted before you even begin.

Have you heard of Oddfellows? I’m a social organiser for this national organisation in the Black Country, helping over 60s meet, chat, have a laugh and make new friends. Had a blast at our Wolverhampton Christmas party. Definitely need a lie down.

Almost 40 years ago I visited the Scotsman’s as I was an interpreter for a trade unionist from Russia on a tour speaking to striking emergency workers. It always makes me smile if my work pops up there, delighted to have contributed this about such a wonderful woman www.scotsman.com/community/an...

Sent out a #journorequest and the inevitable "I can't help with your very specific request but what about this completely irrelevant thing?" replies are rolling in thick and fast. I'd never do this to an editor who put out a specific call for pitches, so why is it OK to flood a freelancer's inbox?

An important read. How sad that our local newspapers where so many of us were proud to dig up up important community stories are now in this state.

Four times a month I run meetings for over 60s where we laugh at my pretty useless quiz master duties and card game prowess, it will never be the best paid work but I thoroughly recommend it for bringing joy.

It’s not often I work over the weekends these days, I sometimes say I’m going to, then don’t. For once, I’ve settled down and got on with it. Feels good to not let anxiety and procrastination get in the way.

This afternoon I’ve been researching and writing about Chelsea’s first Black player, Paul Canoville. I think ‘inspiring’ is used far too often but he really deserves it!

At a time when domestic abuse is so prevalent and trust in politicians is so low, it is astonishing that Reform allowed a man jailed for abusing a woman to become a candidate let alone an MP. Serious questions need to be answered. James McMurdock is not fit for public office.
