there’s so much wrong with the special education system in America & im not ignorant of that but at least i can help my own 1:1 kid, and the kids around me, feel more confident and calm and happy. i can help them learn to love themselves and i can help them learn and grow. thats meaningful to me

just saw a kid who was previously totally disconnected & constantly aggressive happily skipping down the hallway w/ his aide and pressing “again! again!” on his AAC. im so happy for him.. in the hellscape that is the world rn, it feels nice to be part of something meaningful like this

like ive mentioned i work at a special ed preschool & it is so special when a child gets paired with a 1:1 aide who rly helps them thrive .. ill see kids who previously were miserable in their own skin & unable to cope with stress at ALL totally blossom into a super happy kid w/ the right aide :’)

i get so inspired by pieces with these big detailed scenes and I would love to draw stuff like that myself but I make myself so intimidated so i just never do. perhaps now is the time for my secret technique: draw bad and ugly on purpose until you are having maximum fun and then chase that

ive found a groove w my character drawings where i can comfortably stylize them 4 loose/easy art & i think its rly boosting my creativity … but i havent gotten there yet w/ backgrounds !! idk how not to overthink it. but i love funky art w wonky perspective so maybe i just need to lean into it
