Once again, I am saying that letting a group of extremely antisocial tech bros make critical decisions about our collective data and all human interaction online is a very bad idea.

Love that we now have ChatGPT psychosis, a whole new mental illness deliberately invented by ONE company so that they can profit whilst they lobby for even less regulations. Meanwhile said company has not even made a profit. This is such a RIDICULOUS TIMELINE.

My family survived both Partition and the anti-Sikh pograms of ‘84 and I just want to say that every single person who I know that has survived did this by holding on to hope, fighting hard for survival and imagining a safe, better future. Despair was not a choice available to them.

A happy book says:
I'm so proud you chose me as your holiday read! I can't wait to start entertaining you!

A smiling drink says:
And I'm right here! Ready to keep you cool and refreshed while you read!

A gleeful phone adds:
Yay! So great! How about we kick things off with a load of the same old rubbish you always look at, plus some gloomy news and mavbe a few emails from work!!

Hours later...

The drink and book lie untouched.

The phone is out of view but a bubble reads:
Scroll Scroll Scroll Scroll Scroll

The book says
“I hate that guy.”

As individuals, humans have strong values about not hurting fellow humans, not stealing or cheating etc..

..but strangely, when it involves groups of people - tribes or nations - then killing, destroying, stealing land and property in the name of war is considered fair game.

The richest country in the world wants to give a 15 to 25% price advantage to local products over imported goods in its own market, while forcing zero tariff for its products in foreign markets.

Sounds fair. The rich should get richer !! 🙄

Adding a feature because ChatGPT incorrectly thinks it exists | Holovaty.com

Art imitates life imitates art...

This seems to be the first case of a company developing a feature because ChatGPT is incorrectly telling people it exists.

I know it’s not everything, but it’s something: how each of us, in our little spheres of work & community, can help foster & sustain places of care, decency, & intelligence even when powerful people celebrate venal, coarse, mendacious practices. What a gift, to be able to do something so worthwhile

I repeat the images because, despite the beauty of the patterns, I wish to highlight al point: we must look after our rivers—and nature—or we will perish.

Yes! Because the number of Indians over here is very less and most of them don't post frequently. So it takes a lot of effort to build a community. We need to ask more of our Twitter friends to give it a try.

Actually the number of people is less. Do you also feel any issue in the interface/platform?

We want to switch companies quickly (< 1 year) to grow our packages and not care about giving something back before leaving. But we complain when companies have a hire and fire culture. Isn't this wrong?

This week, the City of Rotterdam began a car-free pilot along a section of Meent—the busy shopping and nightlife street—which will be closed to all motorised traffic for the rest of the summer. Only emergency services, cyclists, mopeds, delivery vehicles before 10:30, and pedestrians can access it.🧵

A tweet from Matt Walsh reads: "Dudes like this were already gay. I’ve been married for 14 years and have never been home decor shopping, or even had an opinion on the subject, except for the one time when I had a painting custom made depicting me meeting a group of space aliens. It’s now hanging above a fireplace in our home." He is reacting to a video, where a man and a woman are shopping for home decor. The original poster writes: "when will people finally acknowledge the epidemic of men marrying women and being turned gay"

For a while, it was believed that women and gay men are born with a natural sense for aesthetics. In reality, straight men, particularly American male Protestants, have simply barred themselves from taking an interest in aesthetics because they think this makes them noble.

Letting the worst, most abusive people in the world convince us that having an echo chamber of kind and polite people who share the same interests as us is a bad thing is why social media is so miserable to use these days.

This Indian child climate activist has been in news several times. But very few people outside know the reality behind her.

Unfortunately, as much as children's voices are needed in the climate movement, it also means some parents are going to misuse the space.

Two kids riding bikes

Two kids riding bikes

Are Dutch kids the happiest in the world?

Typical American and Dutch childhoods look very different, with Dutch kids getting a lot of freedom from a young age. The layout of Dutch cities and towns and early adoption of bikes is one of the main reasons for the difference.

At a scorching 46 degrees Celsius, this man in Daryaganj, Delhi, flashed a bright smile. Maybe he adored the jeans he was selling or perhaps he's just a jolly soul. While many of us grumble about the heat, his smile is truly contagious! 😊
