It's fine to have an event that celebrates women. Adding the words "and non-binary" to a women’s event doesn't make it more inclusive. It's just misgendering.

Back on twitter, it was to distinguish autistic people from non-autistic parents of autistic kids.

The "autism moms" were often speaking over people who are actually autistic.

The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."

Someone seriously suggesting that I was a girl who needed estrogen? They could have saved my life. They could have given me a life.

The torture created by my body producing a hormone that didn't work in my brain.

Just an agender person who needs estrogen. Because having estrogen in my brain makes me feel normal.

The testosterone my body produced made me want to die. Made me die in so many ways.

Until estrogen brought me back to life.

If anyone had suggested estrogen, had put me on estrogen, I could have lived my life.

I could have been happy. A normal teenager.

Eventually I'd have realized that I wasn't a girl either. Not a boy. Not a girl.

I was completely dead inside from hormonal dysphoria. Every single day, I wanted to die altogether.

Every day, I wanted to end my life.

If anyone had suggested that I might really be a girl, who needed to transition, they could have ended this torture.

A lot of it stopped when I hit puberty. Not because I became more manly. But because I stopped being anything at all.

I died. A huge part of me simply turned off. The effect of having the wrong hormone in my brain.

I knew that I wasn't a boy when I was four. I also knew not to tell anyone, so I never did.

Yet, everyone sure seemed to figure it out, and were happy to scream girl at me like an insult.

Every fucking day.

About every month and a half, my alcoholic step-father would go on a three day binge, and yell at my mom that she was raising a girl.

I was an only child. That was me.

One day, he caught me playing Barbies with a friend. That alone kicked off months of ridicule for "being a girl".

People suggested that I was a girl for my entire childhood. They called me a girl all the fucking time.

Often shouting it at me. Along with other words, like sissy or pussy.

This. The framing of any form of transness as actually being conformity—or worse yet, hyper-conformity—is so dishonest it's almost shocking.

I really passionately hate the weaponization of GNC kids for anti-trans arguments. It feels so flagrant and cruel and manipulative, even for transphobes. So often, they're talking about either trans kids or the kids we have overlapping experiences with, and then acting like we don't/didn't exist.

Like I was pretty sheltered as trans women's upbringings go. And I can tell you masculinity - and effemophobia - were an absolute fucking *prison* with walls you had to be seen to help build yourself else you were even more a target.

I built *armour* of as much "masculinity" as I could muster.
