I'm old enough to remember when Congress retroactively legalized the illegal warrantless wiretapping on American citizens by the Bush II administration.
11.11.2025 01:51 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They've trashed the Democratic brand while arrogantly proclaiming that they know better than the rest of the Democratic Senators and Reps. They need to be continually called out for it as long as they continue in office. 3/END
11.11.2025 01:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Somebody should ask these clowns to explain clearly why they think they know better than the combined experience of the rest of the Senate.
Of course, they'll just give some weasel answer, but we should keep pointing out what these quislings have done here. 2/
So, we all know that this was orchestrated to have 8 Sens take the fall. But, let's assume that's not true for a sec. That means that the public story is that these 8 think they know better than the rest of the Dem Senators (incl. the minority leader).
Some of the 8 are in their first term... 1/
We need to have "No Cavers" rallies to match the "No Kings" rallies. Protest outside every Dem Senator's office until Schumer is ousted.
10.11.2025 20:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0... poor people getting Cadillac insurance.
And for the love of all that is holy, require states to label their programs "Medicaid," so that it's clear what insurance people have. 3/END
Everyone is charged the same copays. Use progressive taxation in place of means testing.
Medicaid has pvt insurance participation, so people get to feel like they kept their insurance.
People also think it's cheap insurance (it isn't), so (hopefully) they won't be yammering on about... 2/
The ACA fight shows how dumb not having universal health insurance is. Just expand Medicaid to cover everyone automatically. Feds pay 100% for covered services. People/employers can go get extra in private market if they want. Feds will run its own Medicaid plan for states that don't want to. 1/
10.11.2025 03:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dems will field a challenge to King, but Maine's Senate election isn't until 2030. Shaheen is retiring, so that seat is up for grabs.
Hassan is up for re-election in 2028. Any credible primary challenger to her probably stands a decent chance of winning.
I can't figure out if Dem Senators are actually this stupid when they agree to these deals with GOP "promises," or if they think we're all stupid. At some point, you can only conclude that Charlie Brown wants Lucy to pull away the football.
10.11.2025 00:51 β π 40 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0Any Dem who votes for anything in exchange for a "promise" needs to be primaried.
10.11.2025 00:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dems have got to commit to court reform. That means: (a) ethics rules, (b) expanding the SC to 13 members, (c) setting up a separate elections court system and taking away jurisdiction from the SC and (d) banning use of the shadow docket except in extremely limited emergency circumstances.
08.11.2025 07:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We remain liquid by keeping our credit good and growing the economy. Stiffing people on contracts, constantly threatening to default on debt, trashing the economy... they're destroying our liquidity.

I'm not having much luck with the movie titles here.
Every time I hear about this case, this Futurama episode starts going through my head:
05.11.2025 21:51 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0There's plenty of red districts where Dems don't field candidates and 3rd Way can test out their theories. Maybe they should put their money where their mouths are.
05.11.2025 18:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Let the "Trading Spaces" crew loose. Have them do a "Crying Pam" treatment to all Trump's changes.
05.11.2025 17:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Looks like the SC might actually take down Trump's tariffs. It's gonna be hilarious when Trump starts attacking the conserva- judges personally.
Admin says they have a backup plan, but you know Trump will throw that out (too complicated) and just blatantly ignore the ruling.
Just heard about the tsunami warning for the flood of tears coming from the New York Times building. Stay safe, New Yorkers!
05.11.2025 15:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Holy moly, that's a blowout on Prop 50. Let's hope other Dem states take the hint.
05.11.2025 04:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They built a weaponized incompetence robot?
31.10.2025 20:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Welp. Looks like we're gonna get another 2008-style financial crisis. I guess the question is whether it happens before or after the midterms.

I'm reading this insipid "Deciding to Win" centrist consultant blather, and it seems to me that the centrists are gearing up to fight admission of DC if we take the trifecta in 2028. We're going to have to organize against the centrists in 2029 if we want to make sure we don't end up here again.
29.10.2025 02:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've been wondering the same thing. We should start one if there isn't one yet.
29.10.2025 02:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeesh. It's common in a lot of countries to refer to older relatives or friends of the family as "Aunt" or "Uncle." It's also something that happens in the Southern US. Or it least it did when I was a kid.
28.10.2025 16:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0From what I can tell, Congresspeople get paid during the shutdown. So, what exactly our Dem pols doing during the shutdown for their paycheck? This is as good a time as any to put together a Dem version of P2025 and draft implementing legislation.
27.10.2025 04:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mills defense of the filibuster shows that if Dems do take the trifecta in 2028, we're going to have to organize protests against recalcitrant Dems in 2029, or we're just going to keep ending up back here.

What's bonkers about Unitary Executive theory is that we declared independence less than a century after the Glorious Revolution, in which parliament, y'know, deposed the king. We're supposed to believe that our framers intended to give our President more power than the King? Come on.
