I would like to photograph a rattlesnake
But I want to do it with my big zoom lens from about 30 feet away
Well, yeah, that's pretty much what they do. Right before they strike! I have at least one book with a rattlesnake in it...Catch an Honest Thief. Oh, and the one I'm writing right now is likely to have one...it already has a roadrunner!

Another long shot of a black-throated sparrow
Long, because I was out there with the wrong lens
I wasn't looking for birds
But who could resist?
Rocky landscape picture with a lot of saguaros
Upon returning from this hike
the lady in the parking lot
whom we passed on the trail
asked "Did you see the rattlesnake?
"No"
"It rattled at me"

Other than being uprooted, the cactus looks green and healthy ... for now

The beauty of the desert, the mountains in the background and the blue sky above just the ingredients for a big bowl of happiness!

The alternative #BirdOfTheDay theme is #blue. This Tree Swallow fits the bill nicely.
