Just over halfway through Paladin’s Strength by @tkingfisher.com and LOVE IT! Hilarious and great mystery. I got the whole set for my birthday and am extremely excited that I have two more novels in this world on my tbr pile!

Polka dot wasp Syntomeida epilais showing a moth with wings outstretched. The wings are metallic black with green and blue highlights. There are 5 large white spots of each set of wings, and also on the furry body. The terminal abdominal segments are a striking rusty scarlet. Legs are black with white tarsi, and the tips of the black antennae are also white. Watercolour #sciart #naturalscienceillustration completed by hand.

This is the Polka dot wasp #moth #Syntomeida epilais, also known as the #Oleander moth (on which its yellow caterpillars with their long black setae feed voraciously). Completed for the National Trust of #Montserrat, & UKOTCF. It's used in a colouring book, in a section about patterns in nature.

Male and female Green Jay’s look alike but we can tell this Jay comes from the south because of its bright yellow belly. “The Green Jay (Cyanocorax yncas) is a colorful, social bird from the crow family, known for its bright green, yellow, and blue plumage with a black and blue head, found from southern Texas through Central America and into South America.” Our Jay is seen in full profile, facing to our left. This all began with a concerned mutual reaching out to me, stating that they saw a notification that pointed at me using the Meta AI app and asking if my stance on generative AI had changed. That’s when I learnt that Meta has been quietly using random people’s accounts to promote their app. The catch is… these people never actually downloaded the app. Including myself. I just wanted to make this post to warn people. If you see a notification like that - know that it’s a lie, I never downloaded any AI app and never will. I’m an artist who values hard work and human effort, and generative AI repulses me to an unimaginable degree.

If you follow me on Instagram and you receive a notification about me joining or downloading Meta AI well, IT'S A FUCKING LIE. Meta is blatantly lying to us in order to make us download that fucking sludge-generator. I would never touch GenAI with a 10 foot pole.

The recent snowstorm gave me a little extra time and space to FINALLY properly participate in the monthly @birdwhisperers.bsky.social #birdart challenge! I mostly tend to draw local species; these black-cheeked lovebirds were such a fun departure, with their gorgeously bright & varied coloration. 💕
