I took approximately a zillion shots on this evening and then went back two days later because it was so incredible. There's something truly special about the light in December.

Oh no sounds awful, I similarly had a bad time when they taught mental maths, with teachers just shouting random questions at us, never a good combination for learning.

5 shelf crochet bookcase with green books on a navy background, and pale blue shelves. The books are stacked in different ways and there are plants, ornaments and bookends on some of the shelves. There are loose ends at the end of each row, they will be enclosed in a double layer border, avoiding the need to sew them in.

5 shelves completed on my #MosaicCrochet bookshelf throw... it's getting quite big now... and keeps me really warm and cosy as I work on it... it's still really fun to work on... and makes me feel like I'm a dot matrix printer in slow motion... 🧶

4. Atlantic lyre crab

This crab friend has a bunch of common names, mostly ending in spider crab or lyre crab, & occasionally toad crab.

We could mash them all together to make 'great North Atlantic sea spider lyre deep toad crab'… or just call it a good crab & move on.

The textures are glorious in this, I love the way the bracket fungus is working it's way up!

A sustainable laser cut wooden statement necklace by Loadofolbobbins showing an illustration of a goldfinch perching on a branch of cherry blossom. Sticking with me birds for Day 7 of #ArtAdventCalendar but they're taking on a different form...jewellery. With most of my illustrations at some point I will turn them into wearable art of some type, be it necklaces, earrings or the always popular pins!

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

This is a photo of 4 black and white greeting cards reproduced from my original linocuts. They feature different winter foliage: Mistletoe, Ivy, Fir and Holly. They're photographed on a wooden table with seasonal leaves and glowing candles - an atmospheric and wintry scene.
