So, how I often write, is that I come up with a base gameplay system, and then just keep going with all the stuff I personally would use/do use to run a full game. For DANGER CLOSE, that apparently means I'm now at page 80 (and counting) of a Complete Guide on Running Military Campaigns in TTRPGs.

I think with all these kinds of alterations after purchase you should really consult your local magic shop, or better yet the wizard manufactory that created the carpet. Otherwise you risk breaking it for nothing.

It actually took me years to eventually play actual D&D. Bounced off of the grognardiness of it very quickly and rather went with systems like CoC, Vampire and eventually GURPS.

Nobody outside Germany will know what the hell I'm talking about, but here goes: The Perry Rhodan RPG. It was a Midgard (a lesser known German fantasy ttrpg) variant in the popular German scifi setting of PR.

But the player feedback was great and I have a bunch of new ideas on how to resolve stuff. This might be good enough for a first public playtest demo or something! I even have a working scenario for it that shows the feeling of the game as well. Good stuff, I'm quite happy about this :)

Playtest over. Overall not a bad experience. The new core mechanics work and are fast to understand. The trackers also worked, but I need to add a few more mechanics to it to avoid the typical "extended challenge grind" of multiple times the same roll until you have all your needed successes.

I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.

Do you ever have this thing where you can't decide on something, so you ask a friend for advice and as soon as you hear it you know you wanted the opposite?

That's what I do with dice rolls sometimes. Can't decide on something, so I roll for it and that roll helps me decide, regardless of result.

Tomorrow we do another little playtest to test out the new challenge scene rules for State Vector. It is based on multiple concurrent clocks/trackers that fill either by time, successes or failures and the players have to be strategic in picking which to tackle first.
