Our statement following IPSO’s ruling in our favour against The Telegraph, which falsely labelled us as the β€œBritish affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

We will always challenge smears and defend our right to participate fully in public life.

Every attempt to silence us only strengthens our resolve.

We will not stop β€” until every system of apartheid, every engine of genocide, and every structure of settler colonialism is dismantled, and justice β€” long denied β€” finally takes its place.

We have written to Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, calling out the double standards in policing pro-Palestine protests.

While restrictions on marches are boasted about to the Board of Deputies, Muslim and pro-Palestine groups are ignored.

STATEMENT | The Metropolitan Police's decision to block the Palestine march is an outrageous assault on democracy and freedom of expression.

Silencing peaceful protesters standing against genocide in Gaza is shameful and unacceptable. This conduct has no place in our society.

After having his views misrepresented across the media last week, Dr. Wajid Akhter responds with a letter to the editor of The Telegraph.

It’s disappointing how often the media misrepresents Muslim voices without pausing to reflect on their true meaning. Read his response here:

The Times today was forced to issue a correction after it misrepresented and misreported the views of Dr
Wajid Akhter. One of the candidates to become the new Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain.

Have a read of the correction and the ACTUAL words of Dr. Akhter.

STATEMENT | The fall of the tyrant Bashar Al-Assad is a victory for justice and freedom. May this inspire oppressed nations everywhereβ€”Sudan, Yemen, Kashmir, Palestine, and beyondβ€”to continue their struggle for a brighter future filled with dignity and freedom.

STATEMENT | We stand firmly against Bashar al-Assad’s tyrannical rule and with the Syrian people in their fight for freedom and justice. To deny Syrians this rights goes against the values of justice and human rights.

Ah here we go again The Telegraph doing their best to try and conflate a flag with the Shahada on it, a basic declaration of faith for billions of Muslims worldwide, with something more sinister.

When will they learn?

The Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) acknowledges the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant for their roles in war crimes against the Palestinian people.

While this action is a step towards accountability, the ICC’s delayed response underscores the painful reality that justice for Palestinians is often pursued only under immense international pressure. This raises serious questions about the Court's impartiality and its commitment to upholding international law.

In response to these warrants, MAB calls on the UK government to demonstrate a commitment to international justice by taking immediate action:

1. Commit to Enforcing ICC Warrants: The UK government must commit to enforcing the ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant should they enter the UK, in line with its previously stated support for the Court’s independence and its obligation to respect ICC decisions.

2. End Complicity: The UK must immediately suspend arms sales, military support, and trade deals with Israel, and impose sanctions.

The UK must now stand on the right side of international law, holding Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes and ending its complicity in their actions.
