actually idk

this acc itself was meant to be an acc for lynxmic project updates *and* occasional tech fun facts from the start, but i was now just thinking of bringing more frequent tech posting here

what if i start using this account to post/repost the nerdy stuff that i'd otherwise post on my main/"personal" account (@kay.is-a.dev)

..or most of the nerdy stuff, by that i mean the tech stuff, since i don't really want most of my main account to be tech especially when going too nerdy about it

this was one of the defining videos of last year on the channel

rewatching this video i feel like doing this exact thing again just for myself (i've deleted the original vm when i switched pcs a month after this vid came out)

The best i can describe the Win1.0 video is as sort of a combination between last year's OS/2 video *and* the Longhorn 4093 video, also from last year

Though I might likely go live this weekend, then what is to be seen later on remains to be seen

For the previously-mentioned "40 yrs of Win1.0" video, i was thinking of a video like last year's OS/2 video except expanding to more than just 3rd-party apps: you can only guess where im going from here

So a bit of an update: I literally highkey have no video ideas for the channel at all, and I don't feel like really thinking of one either

fun fact: one thing i thought of back when the name "lynxmic" was chosen for the channel in 2019 was that, being composed of parts of ubuntu codenames, it made it representative of one thing: some kind of "interest" in linux i had rising at the time (which however quickly winded down after a while)

possible new video/stream this next week as a filler until the new lynxmic videos planned for fall (?)

just so my channel doesn't (fully) die

10 years ago today, Windows 10 released to the general public!

and for that matter, any highlight-worthy stream segments may come as separate lynxmic videos

so pretty much a comeback of "lynxlive highlights" if you think about it

so based on this conclusion i made, lynxmic videos are not really gonna be a priority for me

might possibly still do yt streams over the summer tho :)

yeah thanks to this video i have learned that when it comes to new videos for this channel, regardless of my mind insisting if the videos are made "for fun" like this one or not, i still have a tendency to look at the video analytics and hope for a good video performance, even tho its what it is

Speaking of Windows, this year (2025) also marks the 40th anniversary since the release of Win1.0 (which will be this November), and while I'm at it, 30 years since the release of Win95

I (might) also do another video of sorts on the former, it's an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity just like W10 EOS

I've already said this over the past year (well it's pretty much one of the "main events" of this year in tech), but I do plan a video when Windows 10 EOL's, to keep up with the tradition I previously made up with Windows 7 and 8.1 (and Vista, but that video was cringe and has been since deleted)

As for me personally, I don't think I will ever feel like going back to frequent Lynxmic uploads anytime soon. Other than the Usual excuses (laziness, being busy sometimes), I've been focusing more on other projects

Unless anything intervenes, you might see a return of Lynxmic uploads in fall

I haven't really been up to much during the (almost) past two months of inactivity, I just had literally no willpower to work on anything for the Lynxmic channel at all lately

Still don't really have much, but I've been willing to go live one more time for a while now

I *swear* it was there, don't know since when this change happened nor I could really find anything about it

The workaround here is to disconnect from the internet, just like on Home SKU
