Hatred Has A Name: Transmisia
It's time we called it what it is.
Great post
open.substack.com/pub/stephent...
"Transmisia—derived from the Greek mîsos, meaning hatred—more accurately describes the aversion, contempt, and prejudice directed at transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people. Where “-phobia” suggests fear, “-misia” names hatred."

Ummm.... we have a convicted felon in the White House, the military is patrolling the streets, people are being beaten and kidnapped on the streets, protesters are being killed, and internment camps are being built, what right do we have to assume we know what's best for others?

Think about the power Hegseth is asserting here. He is claiming that the DoD can force all contractors to stop doing business of any kind with arbitrary other companies.
In other words, every operating system vendor, every manufacturer of hardware, every hyperscaler, every type of firm the DoD contracts with—all their services and products can be denied to any economic actor at will by the Secretary of War.
This is obviously a psychotic power grab. It is almost surely illegal, but the message it sends is that the United States Government is a completely unreliable partner for any kind of business. The damage done to our business environment is profound. No amount of deregulatory vibes sent by this administration matters compared to this arson.

ICE officer training is ‘deficient’ and ‘broken,’ former agency lawyer tells congressional forum | CNN
A former US Immigration and Customs Enforcement lawyer who was responsible for training new deportation officers warned Monday that the agency’s training program for new recruits is “deficient, defect...
When ICE leadership prioritizes speed over safeguards and denies problems instead of addressing them, the consequences are predictable: constitutional violations, escalating confrontations, and collapsing trust.
It is Congress’s responsibility to rein in ICE and hold those at the top accountable.

Democrats push for tariff refunds, daring vulnerable GOP lawmakers to join them
A new Senate bill would require reimbursements to businesses within 180 days. House legislation calls for even quicker action.
Three top Democrats are proposing a 180-day deadline for CBP to pay refunds for all of the Trump tariffs the Supreme Court just invalidated. The 180 day timer would kick off once the bill became law.
It directs CBP to prioritize refunding small businesses.

Calling it "a lethal kinetic strike" doesn't reduce the wrongness, immorality, & illegality of blowing up boats & killing people just because Trump & Hegseth want to play wartime bossman.
There is a LEGAL way to identify, capture, arrest, & charge drug traffickers.
This is NOT the way.

Air pollution, acid rain, black lung disease, respiratory issues and in PA we have Centralia. The town has been burning underground since the 60's.
Nothing beautiful about it.
We had a coal burning furnace growing up. Mom died of emphysema, and 6 of 8 children had respiratory problem.

It's bad enough that everyone knows that Trump is a needy toddler who thirsts over meaningless participation trophies, but saying "clean coal" is like saying "fragrant raw sewage."

Lawmakers say some Epstein files remain redacted despite DOJ's pledge
Reps. Jamie Raskin and Jared Moskowitz told reporters key documents retained redactions despite the DOJ's pledge that members of Congress could view the full files.
Breaking MS NOW:
Some of the Epstein docs the DOJ invited members of Congress to view are STILL redacted, despite promises otherwise.
Raskin says DOJ's reading room has just four computers. It would take seven years to get through the files in the current conditions established by the DOJ.

The *best version* of the Epstein scandal is that a wide swathe of American elites was palling around with a known child predator and explicit eugenicist for years on end — and is now closing ranks to downplay the severity of his crimes and their own complicity.
