Completely obsessed with the OU story of the bad paper and the bad grade and the suspended instructor.
It's more than about those individuals though:

The NYT's Zohran Mamdani hit piece crosses a line for me as a journalist. here's @lopatto.bsky.social's clear-eyed take on the genuine travesty of it all www.theverge.com/culture/7000...

Greetings from Biarritz, France, where the town brought in a DJ to celebrate the repaving and opening of a downtown street (and closing to cars).
Clearly this community and its businesses are suffering bc driving is not allowed.
Screenshot of a paragraph from the linked news article reads: "Marte refused to discuss the plans with Gothamist despite 10 calls to his cellphone, spokesperson and chief of staff. He also agreed to withdraw his initial opposition to another housing project, according to the June 6 letter. Adams announced in January that the city plans to contract with a developer to build 1,000 apartments at 100 Gold St., where the existing building contains the offices of the cityβs Department of Housing Preservation and Development."
Also, Marte is a joke of a councilperson who does not reply to inquiries/comments from his constituents OR the press.

I will never not be confused by the number of seemingly rational and normal people who lined up behind killing a 100% affordable housing development for low-income, LGBTQ seniors in favor of some privately run garden on city-owned property.

Zohran: Imagine living in a city where you can afford your rent, your groceries and even a meal at a restaurant now and then without much stress
Eric Adams: Imagine a platypus so powerful that it could destroy the city. We need more cops
This will make you smile. It's spot on.

A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa.
It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;)
It's so New York.
Interesting that Chris Marte volunteers find it effective to argue with me while Iβm walking into my poll site.
Very happy to cast my ballot for @jesskcoleman.bsky.social

After months of negotiations, weβve secured a deal to build 600 new affordable apartments while saving this cherished community garden. The first public meeting I ever spoke at was about Elizabeth Street Gardenβalmost 10 years ago. This victory is powerful because it shows exactly why we should never give up, and never settle for less. It also proves why big real estate is investing almost a million dollars in trying to buy this City Council electionβbecause theyβre terrified of what weβre capable of. Vote June 24 to support my re-election!" - Christopher Marte, City Council Member (Text stop to opt out) At the bottom of the text you can see the top of an image of Chris Marte standing in the Elizabeth Street Garden.
My NIMBY city councillor Chris Marte announced he "saved" the Elizabeth Street Garden this morning, one day before Election Day.
Thanks for saving an antique dealer's storage space that sits on city-owned land from an apt complex for elderly poor people!

Your semi regular reminder that the governor controls the MTA: www.politico.com/news/2025/06...
And another reminder that Cuomo is dishonest, unaccountable, corrupt, and creepy. And a sexual predator.
