I don't disagree. I was in Girl Scouts all the way through high school and got my Gold Award. I was fortunate to have a troop where our leaders encouraging and we pursued many interest patches. We participated in many all council activities as well. Older scouting was a challenge, though.

Not that you'll listen, but Girl Scouts do so much more than sell cookies. And while it isn't a lot of money, those cookie sales DO support local troops.

Sleeping enough would probably unfrick my system. Will I listen to this advice and go to sleep at a "reasonable" time? No. That is when my creativity is best. That is when I am wanting to collaborate with my friends. But I have to be up at 6:30 to get the kiddos to school.

I am out of my favorite tea. But I have so much other tea I enjoy. I am making myself drink that before getting more of my favorite tea. Tea while working is not as enjoyable as it usually is, and I'm sad. But this will only be for a little while until I get the tea stash down.

Just the need to [*big dramatic something*] seems to be universal.

There was a time where I was a dragon. Before that, I was a horse variation (usually unicorn pegasus). And band bridged the gap between the two. But I have two monikers that have persisted all my life: Night Owl and Punk. I have fully embraced the NightOwl. Now to live punk.🤘🦉

I don't put faith in astrology or tarot, but I do love my horoscope, and I recently bought the same set of tarot cards I sold years ago as well as a new set of cards. I think I am more "spiritually" coded than "churchy" anymore. I'd rather practice my faith independent of the current label.

Thinking about how perfectly "normal" and "acceptable" it is for people to go to baseball spring training every year. But I get told I'm a "groupie" and looked down on for traveling to see bands I love more than once. Yeah, I'm going to keep enjoying my favorite bands.

I have two friends from high school I am still in contact with. And one friend from elementary school I reconnected with last year. My other friends I either don't hang out with outside of our shared activity, or are friends I made in the past few years.

I saw an interesting post that said higher math was like weight lifting for your brain. That being said, I apply practical math with my kids in the store or while cooking/baking. And I'm using all that BS math because my oldest is doing BS math. Looking forward to trig, I DO use that a lot.

Write down your symptoms, when, and why and what. Seriously, do it. And talk to your doctor. If they get worse, start making sure your doctor knows.

You're welcome. The first alive one I came across was rather large, and my reaction was, "Oh! Hey there!" Promptly looked it up and happily let it keep living in my house. We also have quite the brown recluse spider population and "off brand ladybugs."

And while our in town bugs are limited, we have run across a few cool ones here and at the farm grandparents' place. My favorite here are "oh hey there" bugs (house centipedes) and lightning bugs.

New Year, getting back to the punk life.

Littlest was still up and reading. Mom rage initiated. Self loathing engaged as well. Preparing myself to drag them out of bed in the morning and frog march them through their morning routines. I am SO glad I have to work from home right now.

Yeah, I still have to sit with my 12 year old to get her to go to sleep. She just won't hold still and let herself rest. Yes, she will eventually fall asleep on her own, but school starts back tomorrow, and she needs the rest. She can't sleep late tomorrow. Guess I had better check littlest too.

Today I am struck by how grown-up my kiddos already look. Time is passing fast, and I'm happy about it. But sometimes I forget to look at the small details with everything going on every day.

Oh my goodness. My littlest got a STEM advent calendar. She is 8. This child is happily building most of the kits completely on her own. Wiring the projects, building things, and I'm floored. She's enjoying this so much.

Oldest...she'd rather be doing something sporty or artistic.
