The disruption to the Kelana Jaya Line is the fourth it has happened within less than a span of a week, yet the public has not been given assurance on the reliability of the LRT

Going to Kuala Lumpur? With the ASEAN Summit underway, public transport remains a decent choice to get into the capital!

Here is a handy guide showing bus routes affected by the road closures, especially GOKL bus routes, and alternative transport options for the next few days:

Someone in RapidKL must really love walking a lot, or has never walked in Kuala Lumpur for a day in their life as suggesting Kampung Baru or Bukit Nanas as viable walkable alternatives to Ampang Park or Persiaran KLCC is certainly an interesting choice:

Hate how RapidKL on Twitter calls a post “IMPORTANT NOTICE 🚨” and yet still hides info behind a damn link

Also, what do you mean the two most popular stations on the network are closed for almost HALF A DAY and announced ON THE HOUR OF THE CLOSURE?

RapidKL is taking everyone for a ridiculous ride

Press release by RapidKL on the disruption of the Putrajaya MRT line due to signalling issues, with list of alternative lines from select stations, including suggesting Persiaran KLCC MRT is accessible from KLCC LRT station

Whoever from RapidKL that wrote the press release has clearly never taken the MRT from Persiaran KLCC as no one would suggest KLCC LRT station as an alternative when it is much faster to walk to Ampang Park LRT instead:

To further support the theory that RapidKL has no contingency of this scale, there is a poster posted on the windshield to indicate it’s head sign, when it could use the front mounted Electronic Display Sign if it had been coded in advance

After a whole day, graphics for the bus bridging services is now out, showing 10 distinct shuttle zones along the alignment of the MRT for people to travel between

Though admittedly given the scale of the disruption, there should be express buses to skip sectors as well

It's worrying albeit impressive to steal cables from a live MRT network in Kuala Lumpur compared to from a random warehouse in the middle of nowhere in Kelantan for ECRL but worse considering that the ASEAN summit is just around the corner

There is a deeply troubling aspect to this - that someone can easily cripple the capital by sabotaging the public transport network

How invested and ready are our security services to deter such a threat from happening again?

Japanese Wikipedia on Malaysia is so funny because why do they have an article on KLCC’s District Cooling but no article about KLCC itself

Biggest caveat is that I am relying on vague but official sources on road closures and making judgements on which bus routes would be affected, but this will be subjected to change depending on the security situation on the ground

From Jan 1 next year, the Road Transport Department and Royal Malaysian Police will unify compounds and standardise fine discounts

Streamlining enforcement is good but continuing the policy of discounts for fines is a regressive move and defeats the purpose of a fine
