Every single big tech company wants a piece of the pentagon because there's a lot of money in the pentagon. That's it. Even if it's just Microsoft selling windows subscriptions to the country's largest employer (and they obviously do much more than that, and there's many more than them).

Fun fact: I am named after them. One was John (though everybody called him by his middle name, Eldridge) and the other was Carl.

Both were small businessmen in different parts of FL - one owned a shoe and menswear store and the other was a pharmacist who had an old school drug store complete with soda fountain

I worked on this issue in the first Trump term and a common retort from our opposition was "just elect a new president." They saw Trump as the problem, not presidential sole authority.
