Poland has unveiled a next-gen train with incredible capabilities. It runs on hydrogen fuel cells and batteries, releases water vapour instead of pollution, and is a model for clean travel.
18.10.2025 07:21 — 👍 5 🔁 2 💬 0 📌 0Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

04.10.2025 11:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0If you reframe the actions of much of the EU/UK/US far right, as motivated by money it makes more sense. Outrage and destruction are profitable. To take them seriously is foolish. There’s no long term policy plan, don’t give them the credit. There’s money to be made in chaos.

This is the stuff that's really fun - but also fundamental - to be thinking about. Allowing people to play in each others creations and regenerate from them requires a fundamentally new kind of networked framework. 3/3
