The richest 0.1% of Americans control $22 trillion in wealth.
The bottom 50% control $3.8 trillion in wealth.
Read that back.
Folks, this is what oligarchy looks like.

Far too much of Australiaβs economic activity is tied up in housing. Our houses are some of the most expensive on the planet:

Agree 200%. Quality compared to price also not good. Oz seems to have streamlined economy to just a few viable industries over prev 20 years. Maybe infl by lobbies, deals. Job scope now very specific rather than wide-ranging & dynamic. Had same discussion with expats in EU ca. 10 yrs ago.

29.01.2025 23:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The world of crappy apps! Apparently, Signal isn't as secure as originally promoted. TIP from Euro colleagues...Threema. Switzerland seems to be leading the way with intelligent future solutions across the board atm. threema.ch/en

28.01.2025 13:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Don't understand why larger countries can't do this. Oz is a time warp. Same prehistoric regional trains + once daily service as the 80s. Only affordable connection to closest metropol (5 hrs) after pandemic inflation. Better economic outcomes all-round: trades, providers, accessibility, commuters.
27.01.2025 02:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Deutsches Museum Munich removed Musk's honour plaque. 'It can be problematic to honour people still alive in such a prominent place because it can be understood as an uncritical tribute.' A lifetime's achievement can often only be correctly assessed in retrospect. Understatement of the century!

25.01.2025 04:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thread 4: For any of this to change, groups of people on mass need to close accounts & move to another service. I don't know why people are reluctant to move to Tidal. They're offering a good alternative. I'm not with Spotify. π€
24.01.2025 20:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thread 3: More est. artists have some luxury re: already having a 'secure' network. I know the word secure is a bit ironic for the music scene, but you know what I mean. Younger artists are less likely, I think.
24.01.2025 20:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thread 2: The music scene stays the same because nobody actually does anything in terms of activism. They follow trends to stay relevant. I feel other art forms are much better at collectivism & therefore, rebellion. Music is a very individualised world. Spotify has a hold in terms of numbers.
24.01.2025 20:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Longer thread: It's tricky. Everyone is complaining & nobody is doing anything. Plus, the stupid EOY stats trend on socials. It's like an achievement badge at girl guides. Nobody actually posts the crap amount of money they earn with the Spotify wrap-up.
24.01.2025 20:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Apropos crappy platforms: SPOTIFY just donated quite a few bucks to the American oligarchy. Why exactly are musicians STILL complicit in supporting this crap? It is now the equivalent of supporting Trump's agenda. TIDAL. www.tidal.com
