I would love to hear people's thoughts on Sam/Teal'c.

Because I know they discussed it as a possibility for Unending... and I don't not see it, but I struggle to see much sustained passion there at all.

That's a really valid point.

It started, arguably, as the Daniel and Jack show. It should have ended as such, too. Maybe something where their surrogate father/son roles reversed & where "the thing they wanted" and "the thing they needed" were pleasantly flipped.

Still family, but different.

I love the idea that Daniel was holding back because he was terrified that she was just playing with him out of boredom. That felt true to his sensitive nature.

And I love the idea that Vala's growth could centred on her gradually proving to him otherwise, but the WAY it was played out was toxic.

God, yeah, it was hard to watch.

Those one scene really felt like two different ones, decades apart.

"That happened, but then it didn't. But it did and it only happened to Teal'c". Which, frankly, seems like a hell of a punishment for the guy who was unfailing in his loyalty from Day One.

Like, Jesus, writers. Why the totally unnecessary Teal'c hate?

In my critique I completely forgot the Asgard were gone. It's such a bland footnote, totally forgettable. It was a real "because plot" moment that they could have handled way better with some lesser contrivance.

They could ✨have a solution✨ for the Asgard on board, for instance.

I have to agree. It's one of the very few eps I never watch.

No-one had a meaty character arc while stuck on that ship, and nothing they gained or learnt seemed earned.

It was sad and disheartening, and all came to nothing in the end anyway.

But my thinking is that no one will ever learn to recognise the actual word if it's never used.

As an Irish person, I'd rather see people use 'Taoiseach' and answer any questions that arise, rather than over-explain up front and lose the opportunity to teach.

We've a very tactile democracy; normal people canvass, tally, count the votes etc. All out in the open. I'd like to think that helps keep the crank conspiracy side down.

Most of me agrees with you, but the little speck of emotional, stupid monkey brain in me is still utterly terrified they'll delay, delay, delay, and we'll lose the golden chance to see Jack comfortable and happy in his retirement.

Honestly, I stopped paying attention to the news.

With the way so many reboots/relaunches have gone in recent years, I'm not certain I even want them to do more Stargate at all.
