I love the illustrations in this Brent-Dyer book (Florence Mary Anderson) so much. First read it as a child. It seemed such an elegant time...

Made my jam omelet! You separate eggs, whip whites, fold into yolks with bit of butter hot water sugar, cook in pan then transfer to oven 10 m then spread with jam, fold and eat. So fluffy!

I mentioned jam omelets and no one in the family had ever had one! So odd. used to love them as a child.

We had to cancel altogether and only had three people from next door who barely made it with the ice on the sidewalk but so lovely to see them.
