Pt326 Essie remembered with horror what Sergio Goyri had called Yalitza Aparicio when he saw her on the #screen in Roma, when she was nominated for an Oscar—“pinche india, solo dice ‘Si, Señora, Si Señora.” The young woman had looked so #chic at the gala. Goyri era enorme pendejo.

I mentioned this to someone else too, but it's a little bit like reading for escapism vs. writing for catharsis. If you're reading to enjoy yourself in a world full of dark and depressing realities, lighthearted fiction may serve that better. But when you're writing and expressing yourself, (1/2)

I get upset at depictions of ranching in novels ALL THE TIME. I’m teaching an American Indian Romance Novels course next semester. 5 of the 12 novels are either set on a ranch or on the rodeo circuit.

This is going to be an exercise in that is not how you call a horse.
