Great article by @keawilson.bsky.social that digs into the fundamental principle of Vision Zero. Too many people think zero traffic deaths is impossible but it's been done and it has worked! Not just in Europe either; Jersey City, Edina...Hoboken has gone EIGHT YEARS without fatalities.

Our Costco is near a community college and a major hospital. A high rise on top would make a lot of sense.

School crossing guards face life-threatening dangers on the job An investigation by The Associated Press and Cox Media Group Television Stations found that school crossing guards face dangerous conditions, with many injured or killed on the job.

In light of Rochester's new school bus stop camera enforcement for RCSD it's worth sharing this article. "...drivers who hit or even kill crossing guards rarely face serious consequences...About a quarter of the drivers weren’t ticketed at all." apnews.com/article/scho...?

Happy to see this important safety program extended to RCSD school buses! Starting tomorrow drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus with lights flashing and the stop arm extended will be given a warning. Fines will be enforced beginning January 3rd.
