Please check out my latest publication in Geoforum. In the article, I discuss how the law of the dead is theologically inspired and secularly adopted to legitimate land claims.

Crisis between the Ordinary and Eventful: Housing, Material Conditions, and Everyday Urbanism
In many cities, crisis isnβt ruptureβitβs everyday life.
Evictions, debt, precarity, housing struggles.
But also repair, care, solidarity.

Quote from the piece by Miriam Henriquez Vinas & Sabrina Ragone: βThe Court provided a comprehensive interpretation of the right to care as implicitly embedded in the Convention, connected to other conventional rights, and multifaceted in nature.β
Care as a human right?
The IACtHR recently recognised this right and specified respective state obligations.
MIRIAM L. HENRΓQUEZ VIΓAS & SABRINA RAGONE explain what this entails β and why we may soon witness a proliferation of norms at the domestic level.

Whatever your faith, no one should have to risk their lives to pray.
Faith or no faith, all people should feel safe, welcome, and included in our communities.

The violent attack in Manchester today is abhorrent as well as divisive.
We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community, in Haringey and across the UK, and with all who are frightened and worried.
Our communities must be safe, welcoming, and inclusive places for all who live in them.
Restricting access to safe abortion drives women and girls to unsafe procedures.
Access to safe abortion protects the health of women and girls.
As with all other health services, women and girls should be able to access safe and respectful abortion care, when they need it, without fear of harm, punishment or recrimination.

Thank you for contacting me. On September 19, 2025, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 5371, a clean continuing resolution. Unfortunately, Democrat Senators are blocking passage of H.R. 5371 in the Senate which has led to a lapse in appropriations. Due to the lapse in appropriations I am currently in furlough status. I will respond to emails once government functions resume.

A letter to the Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper MP on Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP's Parliamentary letterhead. It expresses "grave concern for the safety of British citizens participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla". It highlights the illegal seizure of British-flagged ships and British citizens, calling on the government to "clearly condemn this attack on British citizens by the Israeli military and take every action to have our citizens returned to the UK swiftly and safely."
Last night, Israel intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla, illegally seizing ships and those onboard.
I've written to the Foreign Secretary, urging the government to condemn this attack and speak up for the safety and immediate release of the 13 British citizens detained.
