And-- it's good to be home.

I am back home. I drove south to my mom's hometown for a family reunion in the past few days. Got to see Molly-dog the chocolate labrador (she's a sweet old lady of a dog, now). Got to see my parents and visit the family home. The reunion itself was good. Also got to catch up with my amicable ex.

Update- forgot the cucumber salad at home but someone else brought the same salad. Butter cake was “good but too rich” (valid). Casserole was a HIT. No crumbs left.

Family reunion day, near Chicago. Swedish cucumber salad is done, ooey gooey butter cake is done, in a couple hours I'll bake the Nieman Marcus casserole, then head to the church basement. Because where else would a Lutheran family have a potluck?

Visiting near home so I get to see our dog Molly (my amicable ex has custody since he works from home and that's good for her). Sweet old lady of a chocolate labrador. ❤️

It's my day off. I got my workout done, and grocery shopping done, and I got the dishwasher started. AND I realized there was ONE BIG GLASS of boxwine chardonnay left. So, I mean, I drank it, as one does.

Reality: "Well, I just made pesto with the basil in the garden and I have like two cups of it so that goes on one serving of noodles, right?

Oh well. It was definitely delicious.

Got home from an errand to find music playing. Turns out the cat knocked a homepod off the side table so it started playing.
Currently it's The Knocks.

I'd like to thank the damn cat for doing the Kitty Scramble (tm) across the top of my foot after she fell into the bathtub and panicked.
