I spoke to the Secretary-General of NATO, Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer, Friedrich Merz and Giorgia Meloni.
Together we stand firm in our commitment to uphold the sovereignty of Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark.
It's often just good fortune, people stumbling upon the right thing that works for them. Luck. Make a choice or series of choices that just happen to not work out can be massively impacting. So many ND people are under-employed or not employed.

And this isn't at all akin to RFK Jr's fanatical health notions or his rabid anti-vax politics. I'm pro-vaccination and don't believe they cause autism.
There are intelligent rational approaches to using "alternative" therapies. Just doing Tai Qi in the forest helps me feel okay in the world.

I don't pathologize or want a cure for my autistic traits (which was the focus of the cited source). But I do want to live a healthy lifestyle, with diet, exercise, non-toxic plant-based medicine, all of which have helped me enormously cope with my existence in the world.
3/
The cited paper mainly points out the lack of comprehensive research on these non-conventional approaches. Lack of research funding for these therapies has long been an issue, partly because no drug company is going to invest in them unless they can patent them, which often isn't possible.
2/
There isn't much that lessens autistic traits in either conventional medicine or (non-drug) integrative medicine which includes herbs, etc.
But can some of these approaches reduce anxiety, insomnia, stress, increase well-being, help to get through a day? Yes. I know from experience.

I'm autistic and I genuinely fear for my life if I ever have to interact with ICE.
Glad she found lawyers.
For me it feels like neural circuits are overwhelmed.

Last I checked it was behind a paywall. So they propose four types? As in subtypes or are they suggesting types unrelated to each other?
I've often thought there were possible subtypes that are (in some ways) different manifestations but still with the same underlying basis.
They follow exclusively people who identity themselves primarily by their curriculum vitae, not whom they are as real people, as revealed by their views, or what they choose to communicate. They tend to not follow anyone who isn't productive. And that has been a social peeve of mine forever.

If youβre late dx #actuallyautistic , what was helpful for you when you were learning about your dx? Iβd like to support my son and husband and there is scant info about how to do so.

Show them you understand the autistic perspective, what is really behind autistic ways, rather than the clinical, pathologizing perspective.
Ex: when autistics blurt out facts or views, don't call them rude, instead understand that autistics are often just being innocently honest.

I promise you, youβre not angry enough.
The rage I feel right now as a father of an autistic child is one that could burn down Washington.
How unimaginably cruel, reckless, and inhumane. The women later lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital.
This must end. Jail these people.
Some autistic women suggest their anti-social behaviors are misunderstood & underneath it all they really like people.
I want to be clear that my anti-social behaviors are because I donβt like (most) people.
To be fair, some of that is being stuck in MAGA-ville. I was more outgoing in Maine.
I tend to dislike the environment created by humans, and prefer the natural world of trees, woods, forests, oceans, rivers. I don't just avoid people, I avoid their entire world. But I can be very empathetic, and I will respond well to gentle, open-minded people. I live in Oregon, not a red state.
17.01.2026 18:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have had to remove a few FB comments from people who demanded to know why Aliya Rahman, the autistic woman who was pulled from her car by ICE in Minneapolis, didnβt βjust follow instructions.β These comments, unfortunately, reveal lack of understanding about being autistic. Here is why. 1/

Their reactions are due to the deeply embedded deficit-based conceptions of autism that come from film and TV. We really need better autistic characters in film, since that seems to be what informs people more than anything.
I see so much more going on around me than people think. I see too much.
Pro tip: you cannot outsmart your trauma.
T r u s t me, I have tried.

Not sure what you mean, but the statement resonates. My trauma isn't going away anytime soon, after all these years. I can't think it away. I can do things that calm me, and I can reconnect with myself in moments of time, but the trauma is still there.
17.01.2026 08:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's often back-fired on me with life-impacting consquences when I've told someone (with some kind of power over my life) that I'm autistic. Most of my remaining family began treating me as if I were intellectually disabled, so there's that too.

I have been thinking about this a lot in the context of Autistic people at protests & risks involved with being arrested
Autistic people &/or people w/ Autistic traits are SO often misunderstood, taken out of context & masking to people please that it leaves us at serious risk in an interrogation
It's so hard for me as an autistic person - I just blurt out the honest truth, so innocently, before I realize it's not an honest process they are using.
16.01.2026 22:20 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Easily one of the best and most important books on autism and the neurodiversity paradigm, with great, well conceived explanations and definitions, and it's one that I go back to again and again as a reference.

Hey peeps, this audio book by Nick Walker is worth hearing, and it's 50% off. I have it on Kindle.
I'm not trying to sell it, I don't know her, but I think it's important to read and an essential part of the ongoing autistic and neurodivergent discussion.
One of the key ingredients to being autistic is no key ingredient to being autistic. Time and time and time again I see someone saying you need to be like this or you need to be like that.
Guess what, it's a load of rubbish.
Stereotypes can limit others and this sort of behaviour needs to stop.
