I resent that I can no longer see the numbers 6 and 7 without unwittingly doing the six seeeven thing in my head even though I don’t really understand it and spend very little time with children

My husband got his Covid shot as soon as it was available. I wanted to wait until November because I get them twice a year and had the last one in May. I was worried I blew it when I got sick but I tested negative a bunch of times.

We were going to do that this week until both us got sick

No Kings is an excellent slogan and the opposite of what Defund the Police was. It requires no explanation and the other side trying to defend against it just makes them sound like they're the ones who hate America. You know the country that was founded against having no kings.

Good news is my doctor thinks it's just pulled muscles/ligaments and not a hernia. I'm also kitted out with some prednisone and cough medicine with codeine. So maybe after this weekend I will finally feel human again.

We have officially canceled our anniversary trip this weekend. Germs can suck it. At least I managed to resell our Ragtime tickets in like 2 seconds so we aren’t out hundreds of dollars.

I love that the recommendation is to stop doing what makes it worse. Sure I’ll just stop coughing right now. Why didn’t I think of that?

So at minimum I seem to have pulled a muscle in my lower abdomen coughing. Worst case I think I may have given myself a hernia. Either way every cough is now extremely painful. Going to call a doctor tomorrow if it’s not better. I’d really like something to go right for a change.

The benefit of having a membership at Wolf Trap is that even though it sucks that I'm going to miss the Hiss Golden Messenger concert tomorrow night, it does mean I was able to exchange my tickets for a different show at the Barns later in the season.

It had been long enough that I hoped my husband had avoided my illness, but now he has it. This week sucks. I’m going to miss 2 concerts and our anniversary weekend in NYC.

Oh finally the episode of The Lowdown where Ken Pomeroy shows up. When I saw her at the Newport Folk Festival she said Sterlin Harjo convinced her to act in the show and it was the scariest thing she'd ever done and was never doing it again.

No kinda about it. It does suck. Except one time back in February when I was walking to the subway after a show and it was miraculously almost empty and it started snowing. That was like movie magical, but also a huge lie because that is not what Times Square is like at all.

I am very lucky to have a boss encouraging me to rest up and get better instead of working. During our weekly check-in yesterday she said you better not have much to tell me because you should be resting a lot. I'm going to miss her so much when she leaves at the end of the year.

I saw them last month and said even if I hadn't known the age of the audience I would have been able to tell by the fact that everyone was recording their concert videos horizontally instead of vertically.

Y’all I was just served up a video of some woman making homemade baby food in which she included raw chicken. RAW! What in the ever loving hell. I swear everyone has lost their damn minds. Social media videos are literally going to be the death of us if AI doesn’t get there first.

Saturday which will be just under 2 weeks, but I’m also immunocompromised so it can take me forever to get over things. I don’t need it to be completely gone. Just gone enough that I’m not worried that I will be forcefully coughing through the whole show

Not that I can think of. Like I went outside for a small walk after work and was mostly fine, but every night between 7 and 8 my body is just like I’m done keeping this cough at bay. Time to go full force.
