unfortunately the 1994 mini hasn’t been collected anywhere! i understand if you’re not able to read it, but it covers her and lex 2’s breakup, which is a big turning point for her. the prequel to the 1994 mini, supergirl/team luthor, should be in the death and return of superman omni

i mean she’s ageless and her maturity varies so i think she can be anything she wants

mae discourse is some of the most infuriating i’ve had to deal with because so much the discourse exists solely because of misogyny (from both readers and dc)

i love the diversity in the mae fandom. general superfam & supergirls fans, lindamae fans, supergirl (1996) stans and haters, people who grew up with mae/lindamae as their first supergirl, maekon fans… i could talk to a fellow mae fan and have a completely different understanding of her character

personally i think her dynamic with lex is completely different but her role as like a complicated emotionally volatile character who feels inhuman but who is accepted by friends & family is great!!

roger stern didn’t write an abuse story where a middle aged man lies to, manipulates, dehumanises, and exploits a young and naive girl for his own personal benefit for y’all to be talking abt it like this & that’s my truth #supergirl #lexluthor

i would be more active on here but every time i search for mae stuff on here it’s just people being unreasonably mean about her and her story and i get upset and leave lol

it’s repeatedly said by multiple characters that she’s too young for him (and lex 2 is said to be 21) so idk 😭 she’s implied repeatedly to be super young & naive

i love them they’re so siblings. there’s a scene in the roger stern novelisation of the death of superman where clark worries over seeming like an overprotective big brother and it’s like it’s too late. that’s already your dynamic

unfortunately people tend to not want to think about the poor working conditions that resulted in their fave media

Furthermore, Supergirl is nowhere to be seen in either film adaption, and in the comic she wasn't even Kara Zor-El, she was Matrix, who took the form of what we would typically say is Kara, and she was Lex Luthor II's (secretly just Lex in a cloned body pretending to be his Aussie son) girlfriend.

its alright, i’m just a little too tired of people who do believe she’s a lesser supergirl than the others. lex “2” being in quotes is completely accurate though! her debut is fun, although i have my problems with it lol, those problems have really not much to do with her specifically

so excited for omni 2 it’ll collect so much matrix stuff! still drives me insane that supergirl (1994) has never been collected because without that context you never find out how her and lex break up 😭

brain, then they skip right to death of superman, skipping over her and lex’s terrible toxic relationship developing. and they saved luthor’s brain has basically never been reprinted 😭
