Another piece from my mentorship program in the fall. This was a jungle themed prompt, so I paid homage to my childhood interest in orangutans 🦧

One of my pieces from my mentorship last fall. Ocean exploration was the prompt! I came up with these mermaids based on sea slugs.

In the centre there are two figures, a small pale child with light cream coloured hair and a purple vest, and a friendly older man in an elaborate green and orange wizard robe, reminicent of a monarch butterfly. He has his hand on the child's shoulder, smiling encouragingly as they admire a monarch butterfly that's landed on their finger. The wizard is holding fruit on a plate in one hand, ready to feed the insects. There is a cabinet of chrysalis's toward the back wall, and blue sky outside shining in from the windows.

Penelope's Vivarium was my strongest concept according to my mentor last year, so we developed her a bit further. These finals were the result!
