Arizona has passed a law making it illegal to prevent residents of a single-family detached residence from having chickens. This is a great use of state government! To many of the towns were making it difficult for people.

The last major thing I record is trips to the dump. I collect our trash on a trailer and take it myself to save money. I took 7 loads this year. That cost me about $96. That's less than we would pay for 3 months of trash service.

I keep a wall calendar that I write down information I want to track each year. One of those is egg production. Even with our chicken loss, we got 2071 eggs this year.
We give extras to my in-laws, parents, friends, and people at church.
Some 2024 in review.
We started out the year with 21 chickens in our backyard flock. Unfortunately, we had a bobcat find a weakness in the run, and 17 chickens were killed in February. I made the run stronger, and we started over by adding 15 chicks to our remaining 4 hens.

The full moon rising between two Saguaro
We were sitting in our backyard roasting marshmallows when I noticed the moon was rising between these Saguaro. In the 5 years we've lived here I have never noticed how much the Saguaro onthe right looks like a hand at this angle.

We are heading to Tombstone today. There is going to be a Victorian Christmas event at the Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park. There are a variety of activities from 10-5. At 6pm there is going to be a Christmas light parade in town.
