Liberal Identity politics can only see the adoption of identities into the institutions and status quo. It's an extremely limited, and often harmful (as you said) scope.

Class and identity are linked, but it's the institutions that need to be broken down and changed.

This is how liberals want to use our identities; to advance harm. And exactly why I say representation in film being a person who looks like me is fine. But representation in politics is only and exclusively someone who either shares or will fight to advance my values, like Less Harm.

Jello Biafra left the DKs decades ago, and subsequently lost a legal battle for the rights to the DKs brand and catalog. So, despite the fact that he wrote the songs that carried the band into success, he has nothing to do with them.

Since then they've basically been a glorified cover band.
