2 firefighters battling Washington state wildfire arrested by Border Patrol A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol operation at the site of a wildfire on Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula sparked condemnation by Sen. Patty Murray.

Not only ICE, but the BLM are culpable in this travesty. They detained two firefighters for "being in the country illegally" and removed 42 others who were employed by the same contractor.

With continued privatization of government institutions, we can look forward to a future where prisoners become slaves. I can think of no more accurate term for persons being deprived of freedom in order to perform forced labour.

Found a puzzling figure in the June jobs report. While 147,000 jobs were added - half of those were government jobs. Private sector jobs grew by 74k last month. Federal jobs were down 7k, but state and local jobs were up 80k in June.

The financial and health portions of the Big Bullshit Bill <- my own label -< are terrible. The suffering of a large portion of our population that will happen if it passes boggles the mind. However, the law changes hidden in riders within that monstrosity are truly terrifying.
