What the Nazis did was to exterminate all communities that they believed would harm Germany in the future because they did not think like them. Those who today consider it legitimate to kill a person because of their thoughts are unaware that they are a modern version of Nazi fascism.

Fascism does not only manifest itself in rhetoric; indifference and apathy are the deepest traces of fascism. If you remain silent when someone who does not think like you is murdered today, you should remember Germany and Hitler very well.

Indem Trump mit dem Finger auf die globalen Eliten zeigte, verkörperte er ein Kernelement populistischer Rhetorik: Er porträtierte sich als Verteidiger des Volkes gegen die Eliten. Diese Rhetorik prägte maßgeblich sein Image als wahrer Volksvertreter.

By pointing fingers at global elites, Trump embodied a core element of populist rhetoric — portraying himself as the defender of “the people” against the elites. This rhetoric played a key role in shaping his image as a true representative of the people.
