There is something odd about the British psyche that celebrates things in our history that weren't all that. See also Victorian England and the two world wars. And you seem to celebrate them even more if you weren't actually there.

I see the #ltmuseum are encouraging me to celebrate 70 years of the Routemaster bus. I have no inclination to do so. All I remember is them being rickety, uncomfortable and cramped. Thank God they've gone!

Today my "Doctor Who references at work" streak continued. Involved in a case involving security prices from different data providers, I was asked why we use what is often called the Security Master value.

Some films did back in the day. They should bring those days back! (Or just learn the craftsmanship of economical writing and directing again.)

Christ, really? My rule is nothing over 2.5 hours. And even that's pushing it. I think twice about anything approaching two. (And yet I can binge watch TV shows all evening. Odd that.)

I remember the day I tracked down this CD. It arrived from the seller with a compliments slip that had scrawled on it the words "What a CAMP track!". They weren't wrong.

So there is - also on Apple Music thankfully (I don't Spotify).

Oh yes, that's the next one I want. Great album from what I have (annoyingly my favourite track is riddled with drop-outs).

This two parter was, for me, the best Who had been in years at the time (and I like pretty much all Capaldi). The fact there were still some blinders to come is astounding in hindsight.

Oddly, that's kind of where I was headed with a later reply. Maybe not cloaca as such, but portal yeah. That would *help*, Not fix, maybe, but help.

I mean, I'm not saying it would take bulletproof technobabble, but at least some kind of acceptance that there's a pocket universe in there somewhere would kind of help.

This, for me, though, has two insurmountable problems. 1) It's just really very dull. 2) There is a a core idea that that taking medication is a bad thing. And that's a very complex issue to be so cavaliar about and leaves a very nasty taste in my mouth.

For me the only thing really wrong with Kill the Moon was the concept of a creature hatching from an egg and then immediately laying one exactly the same size and density as the old moon to make Earth stable again. And that even I could explain away in a few lines of technobabble.

If I had a Tim Minchin I would go back and turn off autocorrect.
