I've had too many times where I've watched the phone not scan... I too print my tickets as backup based on years of experience.

For sure I miss friends I made, but I do keep in touch with many through social media and video calls. I haven't completely "retired". But, I no longer teach or consult, or travel to conferences. And that feels right to me.

"Work to live" vs "Live to work". I really don't miss working full time anymore. I am enjoying having time doing my projects without having to fit them into my schedule. But retirement without a plan isn't a good thing.

15 years in QA taught me this:
The best testing prevents bugs, not just finds them.
Quality isn't a phase - it's a mindset that shapes every step of development.

I have a paper and pen by my side all the time too. There is something about being able to sketch out a problem that I need.

I'm sad that you don't think a book on testing might help them π€£ That said in jest, but in truth, they really do need to understand - @lisacrispin.bsky.social and I wrote Agile Testing Condensed and later Holistic Testing to help all roles to understand how testing fits in.

You mean it should be automatic? Yes, I agree and I know many programmers who develop their code that way. Unfortunately, it is not all.
18.06.2025 13:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Some people still tell us they don't want to do testing because they see it as a "low-level task". What do you think? @janetgregoryca.bsky.social and I share our thoughts on our @agiletfellow.bsky.social blog: agiletestingfellow.com/blog/post/te...

I'm 100% sure I didn't deactivate it but somehow BlueSky decided to disable the "require alt text before posting" setting for me.
I encourage you to check if it's still set properly on your account and to add alt text to every image you post.

Having some critical thoughts about using AI to enhance your user story descriptions. Because I thought that the whole point was to have conversations, not generate text so my Jira tickets are fuller. #gtd

If you need an LLM to generate ideas, then your idea-making thing may be starved.
Feed it by playing. By making. By experimenting. By taking an idea for a walk. By taking a walk. By reading. By talking with people. By listening. By being bored.
But feed it. Imagination is excellent.
