I thought the mercury poison was going to be Wilson’s disease. The camera focused on the patient’s eyes for a second and I was sure they were going to have KF rings.

I think it is pretty unlikely that gender affirming care records would be required in an emergency situation unless it was from complications from a surgical procedure. The big problem is if you get sued and can't get your records. I guess they couldn't proved you provided care then.

I'm thinking more in line of clinics that provide gender affirming care. The article describes the DOJ going after the medical records of patients who have received gender affirming care for bogus reasons. I think they are trying to intimidate physicians from taking care of gender diverse patients

In its campaign against gender-affirming care, Trump administration seeks to clear a big legal hurdle A federal appeals court will hear arguments Friday in the Trump administration's effort to subpoena patient records on gender-affirming care

@cardiacpa1.medsky.social

Does anyone know if it would be legal for patient's medical records to be encrypted with only the patient having the key?

I wonder if they have checked the people who work there for antibodies to measles. It is just a matter of time for the staff to expose the community. I hope they are checking the prisoners for antibodies and are offering vaccines. Flying prisoners out of there is risky too

Makes sense. Most residents are of child bearing age, and most medical students know abortion is healthcare. Plus, malpractice is one thing, facing criminal penalties for practicing medicine is an another thing.

Very cool paper. I remember that Sturgess spread. I wish Biden hadn’t capitulated to Delta’s CEO. Masking on planes/airports is cheap and protects poor people from rich people’s germs.

I’m curious if there has been a signal for Novavax since 2023. Such an easy shot compared to Pfizer/Moderna.

Thank you so much for posting this paper. It is really well done, I wish I read it 18 months ago, it would have saved me a lot of confusion.

I think people don’t like taking pills. Plus, people can’t imagine that their lifestyle makes a MACE possible, denial is powerful.

I’d trade both the U.S. gold medals in hockey to get a regime change here in the U.S. Make that every Olympic gold medal ever.

power outage vulnerability map for the U.S.

power outage vulnerability map for the U.S.

A nice map from a 2024 paper showing which counties have the highest vulnerability to their power grid, based on power outage data from 2014-2023. It rated the counties holding Los Angeles/Riverside/San Bernardino, Houston, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Detroit as ones facing "extreme" risk.

2011! So not really quick. Honestly, I really don’t care about the payback time. I didn’t put them up there to save money. I think the ability to make it through grid/distribution failures using my battery is worth a ton. Sure a generator works, but I hate the noise.

It is so weird how many people I personally know who have had devastating or very serious repercussions from their covid infections who are not masking. I know 2 people in their 60s with rapid onset dementia, bowel ischemia, weird nerve pain, tinnitus and new major food intolerances.

I got a cardiomyopathy from my summer 2024 infection that I acquired outside, despite pax and brief metformin. My vax was 8 months out and a poor match for that variant. I really don’t want to see what a second infection would do. I don’t want flu or RSV either!

Oh for sure, n95 is best. I discovered I can swim backstroke 10 laps in my surgical before it gets too wet to breathe through. My pool’s CO2 is 470 ppm. I worry about near field transmission there. My VFlex is harder to swim in, I wore it when lake swimming when our AQI was over 80.

This person is better than most since they mask when sick. They certainly make me want to push for clean indoor air everywhere. Things have improved in some places, I carry a CO2 monitor.

23.02.2026 13:22 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

VFlex is my friend. I’ve been wearing a decent fitting (2wire) surgical for CO2<600 ppm situations, but VFlex is by far my best fit.

I’ve not been challenged by MDs, but then they know I’m one and probably figure I’ve read the literature. I love the comment I saw in blue sky where someone says they are going to just say they are training for the Olympics when asked why they mask.

23.02.2026 13:14 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Weirdly, I’ve not gotten harassed for my n95 or surgical mask in ages. I really blame Biden and Delta’s CEO for the memory hole. They decided Covid was over when it wasn’t. We had enough immunity by then to see fewer morgue trucks and in Michigan, idiots with guns at our Capitol whining about masks.

DTE has made the payback on my rooftop solar much faster than I anticipated. I hope Mi gets going on balcony solar. I love this graph, I only have a plug in escape so i use more fossil than I like but this inspires me to haul my charging cable when I visit family.

6-12 mg/ kg in this study was a big dose, the human dose is usually around 20 mg. Maybe mice metabolism degrades it faster. Thanks for the post.
