I’m going through art pieces I’ve made over the past year and selecting pages for inclusion in a new art book. I want this second book to be grouped into themes and I’m endeavoring to include some writing on topics of mental health.

I enjoy that your story’s competition/struggle is within the sport of basketball itself. Your characters have vastly different opportunities to interact with one another outside of the game and in the game. It makes them more dynamic and real.

A mood. In my line of work, each week is filled with such radically different and complex problems that I just tell new people I meet that I do “construction projects” before their eyes glaze over.

Grateful for this rehashing of a 1960s quote, because it frames our world today so pointedly.
