I think the true ending is actually literally zero-effort in this game. and by that I mean you have to do something to unlock it and if you miss it it just lets you go back in time or something to do it? I'm not sure how it works but it sounds really dumb in a "why was it designed this way" way

it's a bit sad because I think the show's writer (Tadashi Hayakawa) can be really good but all of his post-Falcom credits are inconsistent-quality super robot anime, but Shin Jeeg's beach scene proves he's got it

just think this show's pretty good overall but this scene is like 10/10 even without knowing about the og show

also I was mostly uninvolved in the big OG plot stages so they're entirely new to me beyond basic summaries, which is nice in hindsight since I get to play through that part entirely fresh

It's objectively strange that Chrono Trigger is the name of a JRPG series about time travellers dealing with a crisis, and Time Crisis a series of light gun games.

Maybe, not sure. I've only played the PSP remake of this game years ago, which I think is supposed to be a pretty direct remake, but I remember maps being smaller and terrain mattering a lot more, at least. And then the next-oldest game I've played is Alpha which was more similar to modern games.

the funny thing is, as far as I can tell, Masou Kishin is sort of a black sheep mechanically within the series too (putting aside the games that are fully 3D)
