For once, Erwin is not running. The rest is familiar at first: the scarf over his nose and mouth keeping out the sand, the weight of his rifle, the buzzing flies, the tapestry blowing tauntingly in a hot breeze. Don’t. He can never stop himself. His body does what it always does. Step. Don’t. Cross the floor. Stop. Lift the tapestry with the needle-sharp tip of his bayonet. The desert heat breaks him out in a sweat. The tapestry falls closed behind him and the room goes dark. Erwin’s rifle is gone from his hands, the scarf from his face. He is in a wooden box, tight as a coffin, and there are a thousand tapestries dangling in his face and the air is thick and still, and Levi is touching him through his trousers. Levi with his small, strong, clever hands. He’s pressed flush against Erwin, and it’s so dark he can’t see, but he knows—intuitively, somehow, but also because he knows Levi’s body, he realizes now at a distance somewhere outside his head, knows its angles and divots and

He is trapped, forever trapped inside himself, watching while his body either moves or doesn’t. Helpless, always, to do anything. Levi shifts onto his toes and there is warm-wet on Erwin’s Adam’s apple. Erwin squeezes his eyes shut. A rumble rises in his throat with nowhere to go, a boiling pot with a lid. Quiet. He is supposed to be quiet, though he can’t remember why. He is so hard it hurts.

I may drop titanomachy 8 this weekend because I have no self control but also because titwin is once again Going Thru It™️
