My first thought was that WH meant Western Hemisphere (duh), but then realised it was White House. But demolishing half of the Western Hemisphere (arguably already in progress) would have less of an impact upon the MAGA than the White House.

I'm thinking of trying M42 lenses on my Olympus MFT OM-D E-M10 III & E-M1X. They can be picked up very cheaply & as they'd be completely manual, it may help improve my technique. I've never used these obsolete lenses, though. Any tips or recommendations, anyone?

A shot of Gardd Pawb, a community garden space created from a strip of unloved and overgrown ground adjacent to the Douglas Road car park in Colwyn Bay. Taken on 28 June 2025 on my Olympus OM-D E-M10 III, with an "Oreo cookie" disposable camera lens.

Ended my trip around the Northern Eye festival exhibitions in Colwyn Bay by dropping in to Porth Eirias to see "Eyes Open". A great variety of high-quality work it is, too. I couldn't miss the opportunity of making some of my own stuff; here's a small sample.

It really depends on the context of the image. If colour doesn't contribute anything, or is a distraction, I'll convert to B&W.

I have "Land" - wonderful.

Was lucky to pick up six volumes of "Landscape Photographer of the Year" in great condition from the honesty bookshop in Penmaenmawr, for a total outlay of just Β£12 a couple of days ago.

I wandered around Colwyn Bay to see the street-based exhibits from the Northern Eye photography festival this afternoon, popping off a few shots along the way on my old but fun 9MP Fuji A900 compact. Here are a few of them.

Yes, I've seen him many times, first at Eric's Club in Liverpool, around 1978 or 79. His performances these days can be a little variable, but he was in form this time. His support, Mike Garry, was also good.

Couple of grab shots on my phone, as we were leaving Pontio in Bangor, after seeing Dr. John Cooper Clarke a couple of nights ago.

Not great quality, but I liked the compositions.

I don't think it's false modesty when I say that I'm not one of the brightest stars in the photographic firmament. A vibrant, colorful mural painted on a brick wall depicts the face of John Lennon. The mural spans multiple doors and surfaces, blending blues, reds, oranges, and greens. To the right of the mural is a black and green ATM labeled "cash zone" and a sign above it reads "4 Sgt Peppers Apartments" with an arrow pointing left.

Am I seeing irony that doesn't exist in a painting of John Lennon's face next to a cash machine?
