My first thought was that WH meant Western Hemisphere (duh), but then realised it was White House. But demolishing half of the Western Hemisphere (arguably already in progress) would have less of an impact upon the MAGA than the White House.

I'm thinking of trying M42 lenses on my Olympus MFT OM-D E-M10 III & E-M1X. They can be picked up very cheaply & as they'd be completely manual, it may help improve my technique. I've never used these obsolete lenses, though. Any tips or recommendations, anyone?

It was, but I had to talk myself into buying them, as I'm running out of space for more photo book. I'm going to have to have a slight cull, I'm afraid...

I have "Land" - wonderful.

Was lucky to pick up six volumes of "Landscape Photographer of the Year" in great condition from the honesty bookshop in Penmaenmawr, for a total outlay of just £12 a couple of days ago.

Yes, I had that, too, and most of his subsequent releases, including a triangular record on clear vinyl, IIRC.

Yes, I've seen him many times, first at Eric's Club in Liverpool, around 1978 or 79. His performances these days can be a little variable, but he was in form this time. His support, Mike Garry, was also good.

We were having lunch in the Cavern Restaurant directly opposite, and this image was literally staring me in the face. I haven't seen the one in Wood Street - will have to check it out next time.

... racking up in a way that I'm completely unaccustomed to. I'm quite confident in the quality of at least some of what I do, but I've never really mastered the art of attracting attention to it. Maybe I'm just living in a self-delusional bubble! 😶‍🌫️

I don't think it's false modesty when I say that I'm not one of the brightest stars in the photographic firmament. My work never really attracts much attention, but I was chuffed that my recent "Leaving of Liverpool" image was featured on Flickr's "Explore" page, and the views & Faves are... [Cont.]

Am I seeing irony that doesn't exist in a painting of John Lennon's face next to a cash machine?
