Two warm loaves of whole wheat bread cooling on a rack on the kitchen counter. One loaf has three suspicious chunks missing from the top surface, and further investigation revealed that a sneaky cat hopped up onto the counter to nibble away as soon as the baker stepped out of the kitchen for a moment. The smell can’t come through the photo, but it smells like a heavenly bakery.

Apparently the humans are not the only ones in our home who like fresh-milled-flour loaves warm from the oven. This is why our counters have to stay clear, with bread products never left unattended.
