The phrase β€œevery conservative influencer in the business” tells you everything you need to know.

The entire modern conservative movement descends from snake oil salesmen and prosperity gospel revival tent preachers.

It’s nothing more than a con, and that’s all it will ever be.

I'm rambling. Grief is such a potent emotion. Rising from it seems like "closing it off". Embracing the love that was instead of erasing it... That is the way

I grieve that my Dad won't see the legacy he gave me lives through my son, and that he dedicated a lot of his last energy to making pancakes with my daughter because that was their "thing"

I grieve because my mom, her mind gone from Alzheimer's, still recognized my daughter and danced with her.

What does "rise from grief" even mean? Genuinely.

I lost both of my parents over the last six years. Grief is a part of you, it changes you, and is always under the surface. I grieve that my kids never knew their Grandmom and barely knew they Granddad.

No rising from that, but embracing it.

I find everything pre-computational media really struggle today. They still seem to rely on a "author" and a passive consumption of media that computerized interactive media resists.

I've started pivoting back to that just for the structure. The struggle students have with uncertainty is real

Cool essay about how designed environments shape our cognitive practices, especially in libraries, which the author calls "a gymnasium for attention"

It seems to me that the foundational 'wrong turn' in education was the increasing rhetoric from universities themselves and their supporters that the primary value of a university education was increased earning power.

That leads pretty directly to this place we're in now.

The Court Packing Plan was a double-edged sword. Many moderates protested. He lost some political clout for even suggesting it, but it is worth noting (or correlates, even if causation isnt clear) that after the plan was proposed, Chief Justice Owen Roberts suddenly swung liberal on future rulings.

The next administration has to look at FDR.

When FDR started ramping up new deal legislation, He effectively told the Chief Justice that if he tries to stop the legislation, he would use his super-majority in both houses to stack the courts and that the Chief Justice would be a political minority
