A friend once told me that “collecting yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies.”

There were some parts that required some additional adjustments, but I found that I did not get frustrated at all over it.

Instead, I actually had a lot of fun brainstorming and experimenting to figure out how best to get the stitches to look the way I want. It was kind of like solving a puzzle.

I did recently take a tiny step towards improving though.

I tried resizing a pattern for the very first time. I was worried that I would crochet half of it and find out that I had messed up the calculations, but I’m happy to say that it’s coming out pretty well!

This perfectionism affects all of my hobbies, though it affects crochet and knitting to a lesser degree (likely due to the fact that I always follow patterns).

Perfectionism really sucks the fun and joy out of things. I’m trying my best to overcome it, but it’s hard to shake

I have a hard time crocheting without following patterns exactly as they’re written.

I guess it’s because I am a perfectionist and I have this fear of making mistakes, or not getting stuff right the first time around.

What vibrant and lovely colours!

The first thing that came to mind was Birthday Cake, but looking closer at the colours, it reminds me more of Galaxy Dust

Slowly catching up on all the progress I lost when I found out I’d missed a stitch a while back and had to frog a bunch of rows

Ah, the eternal struggle

Went to take a picture of a WIP and that’s when I realized that I had missed a stitch many rows ago 🥲. Time to frog

I tried crocheting while walking on a treadmill just now and almost fell off a few times. Maybe I set the speed too high and I just need more practice walking in a straight line while also doing something else? It doesn't help that the treadmill is kind of small

Now that I think about it, the majority of my old projects that I stashed away in the closet are still technically WIPs because I never weaved in the ends 😬

I don't have many recent projects to post. Perhaps I should dig out all of my old projects from the closet and post pictures of them on here?
